Nexera’s 2017 Sterile Processing Certification Preparatory Courses Now Open for Enrollment

Nexera’s 12-week sterile processing certification prep course is specifically designed to help existing managers and technicians, as well as individuals who want to work in sterile processing, prepare for an accredited national certification exam.

Space is limited! When a course roster is full, individuals will have the option to be added to a wait list to be notified in the event of an opening for that specific session. Please be advised the wait list does not pertain to future course sessions, only for that of the current course.

Course Fee

Cost of Course with Required Text: $1,275
Cost of Course without Required Text: $1,150

The course fee includes registration, handouts, and a three-hour final practice exam. Students have the option to purchase the required textbook through Nexera at the time of registration or independently. Students who choose to purchase the book separately must do so in time to have it with them on the first day of class.

Mary Olivera


Senior Director, Nexera Sterile Processing

Mary has over 20 years of experience in numerous roles in healthcare sterile processing, distribution, and materials management. A regular recruit for FDA expert panels regarding sterile processing and a past President of the New York State Central Service organization, she continues to play a major role in pursuing higher educational requirements by the state for central service professionals to increase patient safety.

Mary has been instrumental in drafting legislative bills at the State Senate and the State Assembly requiring formal education for sterile processing professionals in New York. She serves as the Chairperson of the Mandatory Certification Committee to International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiels Management.

Mary brings to the table extensive knowledge of Joint Commission, AAMI, OSHA, CDC, and DoH regulations. She is an educator and has published several articles related to sterile processing and surgical services.
